The first notions that usually come to mind when considering garbage, waste and deterioration are generally negative. With that in mind and a strong belief in the ordinary object and its ability to be transformed into a work of art, the Re-Bench project presents benches made from aluminium cans and placed in public areas. In this way, utilized waste materials – products of human actions – such as cans, are transformed from their initial disposition to an unconventional usage, without rebuilding them with complex and intensive processes. 

The soluble shape and colourful construction of the benches, harmonise perfectly with its surroundings and provides at the same time a practical function. Apart from the impressive presence of the brightly coloured creations and their decorative role within the provided space, the whole perception removes any negative impression and reshapes people’s idea of what is waste.
